Well, my reading goal for 2016 was to read 45 books: an average of 3 per month. As of December 2016, I’ve made it to 49 books!!
I track all my readings over on Goodreads and I love that each year you can join the Reading Challenge. At the end of each year you get a really cool report of your readings, like this:
I am very happy with the results and it is interesting to note that this year I balanced my fiction versus non-fiction reading. I usually read more fiction than non-fiction, but this year I was more inclined to read books about meditation, minimalism and productivity.
I actually read more non-fiction! In total, I read 23 fiction books (46,9%) and 26 non-fiction ones (53,1%).
And this year I broke my record regarding the total number of books read. Looking back to the last 4 years, 2016 was a very productive year for reading! These are my stats since 2012:
I love these Reading Challenges because I really look forward to complete them! I had planned to read 45 books, and when I got past this number I was striving to reach 50, but the year ended before that. Don’t get me wrong, I am not disappointed or anything, because my initial goal was successfully achieved 🙂 🙂 🙂
So, what did you read this year? Have you joined any reading challenge?
Now, onwards to 2017! Happy New Year!!!
